Ian Shang Kuan Chou Chuen

It all started with an idea.

Ian had started his early legal career with the Attorney General’s Chambers of Malaysia (AGC) as a Deputy Public Prosecutor after being invited to join the AGC in 2004. At the AGC, he had successfully led the prosecution of individuals and companies in the courts for cases ranging from commercial crimes, cases involving capital punishment and high profile cases involving public interests at the material time such as PP v Abu Bakar Musa 2010 8 MLJ 360 and PP v Kartigeyan Krishnan amongst other cases that are reported in the law journals.

Ian then in 2010 joined the Securities Commission of Malaysia (SC) in the Enforcement Division where he was exposed to the intricacies  and the laws and regulations governing the capital markets.

In 2017, Ian established Messrs Ian Shang Kuan, where he currently handles litigation cases on behalf on multinational and government linked corporations. He also provides corporate advisory services to several companies listed on Bursa Malaysia.
